Chairman highlights an exciting future for Kirkgate
As a Board member of Kirkgate Developments since 2005, Donald Murdoch was well placed to take on the role of Chairman when he was elected to the position in 2009.
An architect by profession, Donald has a wealth of experience gained in the local authority sector where he was Corporate Director of City Development with Aberdeen City Council prior to his retirement in 2006.
Commenting on future plans for Kirkgate, Donald Murdoch says "It’s an exciting time for the company as the scope to be involved in a diverse range of activities widens and we are enthusiastic about the prospect of working with Grampian Housing Association and other partners on further projects in the future."
Kirkgate is building up its portfolio of properties for market rent with the recent addition of 7 two bedroom flats at Brimmond View in Aberdeen and with only two houses remaining for sale in its latest residential development in the coastal Aberdeenshire village of Collieston, opportunities to develop new homes for sale are also currently being explored.
As well as housing for sale and market rent, there is potential to be involved in further non-housing projects, similar to the commercial venture with NHS Grampian to provide a new health centre for the Fyvie Oldmeldrum Medical Practice. Interested partners are sought.
